Last week StreamUK were called upon to webcast British breakthrough act Rumer to online fans all over the globe. The Pakistani-born singer achieved notable success last year after winning both a MOJO and UK Music Asian Award as well as a Brit Award nomination.
StreamUK provided the onsite engineering and communications as well as the provision of DVB connectivity (courtesy of partner SiS Live) as well as a satelitte ingest from the company’s HQ in North London.
Streamed live to The Guardian and Amazon website, the StreamMP player was used to enable multi-bit rate flash streaming and IOS provided by a HTML5 adaptive player to a number of other websites hosting the content.
The event became another great example of how popular music webcasting is becoming amongst artists and online video audiences. Delivered globally by the Level3 content delivery network, Rumer’s show was broadcast to other 20,000 viewers.
