Stream UK is pleased to announce our participation in the Microsoft Silverlight Partner Initiative, a programme that creates a universal language for media applications.
The Stream UK set of technologies, applications and platforms integrate seamlessly with rich-media platforms such as Silverlight to enable high quality, cost-effective video delivery over the Internet. Stream UK is joining with Microsoft to further its mission of providing content providers and rich-media developers with the tools to engage global audiences with high-quality video.
The Silverlight platform enhances user experience with interactive Web applications by enabling content providers to combine video and animation, while helping control costs. The offering also provides extended Web audio and video streaming and playback capabilities via Microsoft Windows Media technologies. Silverlight is a core technology that enables rich user experiences on the desktop, Web and beyond. The Microsoft user experience approach is part of the broader Microsoft Application Platform strategy, formed with the goal of helping customers realize the benefits from more dynamic applications.

This weekend (10-11 May) BBC Radio 1 is using innovative new technology to give listeners a rich online experience during and after its Radio 1 Big Weekend music festival in Maidstone.
Revellers can log on and check out hundreds of photos from the event, select specific shots, zoom in and out to look for friends and celebs. It is also possible to contribute photos, this allows the event to be captured in a uniquely visual way.
The project is being put together by Conchango and Stream UK. Stream UK came highly recommended. Paul Dawson, Head of Interactive Media at Conchango said “Microsoft recommended Stream UK to us as the only Silverlight infrastructure partner they knew who could meet the pressing technology requirements and timescales required. They promised to deliver and were as good as their word”
