Stream UK Media Services Limited this week announced the release of its next generation online media platform, Stream MP. Built on Kaltura’s existing platform Stream MP handles all aspects of online video. Content will be delivered across the Level 3 CDN, a sophisticated and proven content delivery network. Added to this, Stream UK will offer support, consultancy, maintenance and integration, providing a fully serviced solution for content owners of all sizes across the UK and Europe.

Stream UK currently has a white paper published on the Association of Online Publishers (AOP) website. The article ‘Stream UK’s Guide to Quality Online Video’ assesses suitable source formats for online video, the relative optimum quality you can expect from various sources, advice on chooseing a codec (Flash, Windows Media etc) and their relative market penetration.
Also covered with the article is encoding to the right format, as defined by user connection speed, and types of video content.
