Stream UK at the Screen Media Expo 5-6 May – Stand F21

London – 28 April 2010 – Stream UK (est. 2001) the London-based Microsoft Gold Partner for streaming media solutions and end to end webcasting services, is very pleased to announce that it will take part in the Screen Media Expo. The event is in its 5th year and has established itself as the biggest dedicated digital signage and DOOH media event in Europe and will be held in Earl’s Court Convention Centre London on 5-6 May.

Stream UK will be presenting our award winning Stream Crowdsourcer. Thomson Reuters employed the ingest, moderation and transcoding capabilities of the Stream Crowdsourcer to power the Times Square video billboard with pictures sent in from all over the world for their ‘Everyday Smiles’ campaign. Stream UK will also present technically-advanced digital media solutions, based on streaming technologies.

Stream UK turns 9

Camden based Stream UK Media Services celebrated its 9th year in business this month. Stream UK, a privately owned digital media company was founded by two friends, Duncan Burbidge and Joe Bray in April 2001 and has since grown to be the UK’s largest independent streaming media B2B business.

Stream UK’s main office is located on the lock in Camden Town and has 25 London based staff. Stream UK also has an office in Madrid and joint venture in Wales.

Stream UK has employed staff from around the UK, Europe, Middle East and South Pacific and the staff are fluent in numerous languages which have assisted in Stream UK expanding its services throughout UK and Europe.

If I were Prime Minister…

If i was pm1 If I were Prime Minister...Stream UK has recently updated its upload form for BBC News. The BBC currently use Stream UK’s Crowdsourcer Content Management System to allow viewers to submit a news photograph or video that they have taken that they believe the BBC might be interested in.

The upload form now has a webcam application which allows users to record a clip to send to BBC News.

The new upload form has been timed to coincide with the ‘If I were Prime Minister’ campaign. Viewers can send a short video clip describing what they would do if they were Prime Minister, the best of the clips will be shown on BBC News.
