In November 2011, Liverpool FC described its partnership with StreamUK as a ‘productive working relationship’, which both parties claim is now as productive as ever. StreamUK continue to deliver the full schedule of developments promised to revamp the football club’s online video offering and claim the partnership is making great progress in bringing fans closer to the Premiership club, no matter where they are on the globe.
The online media experts were chosen by Liverpool FC in August 2011. Since then the company has worked very closely with the club to ensure it provides the high standard user experience that its huge list of subscribers enjoy. In February 2011, the Streaming Media Europe journalist Adrian Pennington claimed that Liverpool FC had “seen its online video service prosper since working with StreamUK”, as the online media company vowed to put the Liverpool offering up on the pedestal, setting a great standard for other sports clubs to admire and follow.
At Sportel Monaco last year, LFC’s Head of Digital Media & Technology Andrew Robinson, claimed the new StreamUK video powered platform was the “the most successful [online video subscription service] of any football club in the world”, adding further credibility to the partners work as well as a great realisation to StreamUK’s ambition to bring the LFC.tv service ahead of the rest.
StreamUK CEO Duncan Burbidge claims “The LFC experience shows that online video can be a significant offering for sports clubs – Sport is a driver for online video because clubs own lots of high quality content that people are willing to pay for. It makes it much easier to provide a premium service for owners who can see a ROI on the quality they are serving their customers.”
New online video features such as time capture sharing has enabled a huge variety of StreamMP sports clients to explore the benefits of efficient and effective online video social sharing. Now with superior integration with social networks such as Twitter and FaceBook, sports content owners can track content success, popularity and sharing activity more easily, which is adding more value to analytics that content owners can use to create detailed reports for online video strategies.
This year StreamUK released ‘Tribal Technology’, a suite of features that have not only led to an ever-evolving successful relationship with Liverpool FC, but can also be used by content owners to inspire and enrich their content over the web, as well as enhancing user engagement and the online video experience.
